He was predeceased by: his former wife Michelle Scruggs; and his son Preston Scruggs. He is survived by: his fiancée Danielle Krug; his children, Chelsey Currence (DeShawn), Corey Scruggs and Brittany Mauldin; his parents, Vickie Parton and David Parton; his grandchildren, Isaiah Perkins, Jeremiah Perkins, Elijah Perkins and Sony Mauldin; his siblings, Wendy Royalty (Geordi), Kimberly Parton (Greg) and Brent Parton; his nieces and nephews, Nathaniel Rogers, Ronnie Parton, Jayme Royalty, Kirsten Parton and Alyssa Royalty; and his cousins, Rocky, Tina Burchfield and Matt McDonald. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Greene Funeral Services - South Chapel (1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
