He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Edwin Farnsworth, Jr. and Martha Elizabeth Patat Farnsworth; his wife Shelby Michael Farnsworth; his children, Bryan Farnsworth (Amy) and Dawn Farnsworth Mauldin (Eddie); his siblings, William "Bill" Farnsworth (Kay), Nancy Chandler and Jimmy Farnsworth (April); his sisters-in-law, Novella Whisnant and Teresa Michael; his grandchildren, Madison, Cameron Farnsworth, Hayden and Hannah Mauldin; and his close friends, Gordon and Trish Stewart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VFW Post 6724 at 8520 Mt. Holly Road, Charlotte, NC 28214.
