He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul James and Beulah Mae Whisnant (Smith); his wife Loria Lea Messer Whisnant; and his sister Martha Pauline Walls. He is survived by: his daughters, Angela McClure (Mark) and Sandra Whisnant (Sam Ergle); his brother Earl Whisnant (Nancy); his grandsons, David Coggins and Dylan McClure (Talia); and his great grandchild Alexander McClure.
