It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Milton LaFon Spencer of Gastonia, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Milton Spencer and Mary McGuirt Spencer; his wife Ruby Robinson Spencer; his sons, Steven LaFon Spencer and David Larry Spencer; and his siblings, Robert Spencer, Hazel Spencer, Marshall Spencer, Irene Spencer Rhyne and Bernice Jenkins.

He is survived by: his daughter Linda S. Glenn; his daughters-in-law, Wanda Spencer and Barbara Duncan; his grandchildren, Jason Hamilton (Carmen), Traci Spencer Adams (Sean), Todd Hamilton (Kathi), Susan Spencer Shields (Wade), David Spencer, Jr. and Michael Spencer (Nicole); and his great grandchildren, Joshua Adams, Sarah Adams, Caleb Shields, Selah Shields, Evan Hamilton, Elliott Hamilton, Jordan Gregory, Dylan Spencer, Nicholas Spencer, Kennedi Hamilton and Spencer Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bradley Memorial Methodist Church, Budget Fund, 1425 W. Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28054 or to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
