He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hensley and Joanne Lawson; his grandchild Micah Ewart; and his brothers, Roger, David and J. J. Hensley.

He is survived by: his daughter Mandie Ewart (Richard); his siblings, Gary, Danny Hensley, Dolores Metz and Debbie Daft; his grandchildren, Nathan, Hallie and Micahla Ewart; and his pet Dixie.
