It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mays Beal Stott of Gastonia, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on July 20, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Giles Detwiler Beal and Amy Sue Jacobs Beal; her husband Grady Bernell Stott; her brother Giles Detwiler Beal, Jr.; and her niece Helen Beal Montague.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sue Stott Ryan (John) of San Rafael, CA and Caroline Beal Stott of Gastonia, NC; her sister-in-law Martha Beal; her grandchildren, John Scott Jenkins (Bridget Welborn), Amy Jenkins Muenow (Steve), Laura Becker Giffin, Allison Beal Giffin, Genevieve Claire Ryan and Liam Fergus Ryan; her great grandchildren, Owen Grady Jenkins and Eva Olivia Welborn; and her nieces and nephews, Lee Beal Kirksey (Charles) and Giles Detwiler Beal, III (Jennifer).
