She was predeceased by: her husband Loyde Black; her son Doug Black; her parents, Kate Stewart (Navey) and Benjamin Crawford Stewart; and her siblings, Betty Grigg, Louise Carpenter and Ben Stewart.

She is survived by: her grandson Matt Black; her son Robert Black; her grandsons, Philip Black (Jessica), Brian Black and Lance Black; and her sister Doris Pace.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in Mary's name to Linden ARP Church, 205 Myrtle School Road, Gastonia, NC 28052.
