She was predeceased by: her parents, James Walter Skipper and Frannie Brewer Skipper; her husband Leroy Emmett; her children, Alice Emmett Davis and James Leroy Emmett; and her siblings, Retha Skipper Willis and James Skipper.

She is survived by: her son Charles Phillip Emmett (Carol); her son-in-law Jon H. Davis of Gastonia; her sisters, Frances Skipper Lineberger of Dallas, NC and Faye Skipper Sutt of Lawrenceville, GA; and her grandchildren, Chad Phillip Emmett (Linda Smith) of Oakboro, NC, Amy Davis Dherit (Lowell) and Mike Davis. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gastonia, 2650 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
