He was predeceased by: his parents, William Elzy Hodgin and Nannie Ledford Hodgin; his granddaughter Sandra Hodgin Hensley; and his siblings, Edith Blanche Hodgin, Carl Hodgin, Wilburn Odell Hodgin and Willard Eugene Hodgin.
He is survived by: his children, Willard Hodgin (Sharon) of Bessemer City, NC and Shirley Hodgin Fraley (Richard) of Gastonia, NC; his grandsons, James Fraley (Janice) and Kevin Fraley (Angela); his great grandchildren, Danielle Martin (Timmy), Glenn Hensley, Dylan Hensley, Emilee Fraley Ledbetter (Noah) and Brandon Fraley; and his great great grandchildren, Madison Martin, Amia Martin and Raelynn Ledbetter.
