With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lee Roy Tallent of Gastonia, North Carolina, born in Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on January 15, 2022 at the age of 74. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. L. Tallent and Dorothy Williams Tallent; and his brothers, Johnny and J. L. Tallent, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Kay; his children, Robbie Tallent, Davy Tallent (Vanessa), Ronnie Tallent, Jason Tallent (Becky), Jay Welch (Veronica), Andy Welch (Amber), Kim Carpenter (Chad), Tammy Blackmon (Shawn) and Lynn Philbeck (Barry); his siblings, Mary Ann Sheffy (Ray) of Etowah, TN and Gene Tallent (Susie) of Tampa, FL; and his grandchildren, Lee Tallent, Shane Tallent, Cheyenne Tallent, Jeremy Tallent, Christian Tallent, Addison Tallent, Dani Hodge, Chris Sawyer, Kayla Matthews, Jesse Welch, Kody Penley, Ashton Blackmon of Easton Blackmon, A. J, Alieah Welch and Jesse Baldwin Welch. He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
