He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Wright Thompson, Sr. and Hazel Louise Buchanan Thompson; his wife Barbara Diane Thompson; and his daughter Cynthia Dawn Esquivel. He is survived by: his daughter Tammy Field (Grant); his sisters, Linda Bell (Mike), Brenda Wentz (Harold) and Phyllis McGinty; his grandchildren, Matthew Meadows, Samathia Davis (Cy), Taylor Field and Jason Field; and his great grandchildren, Cynthia Davis, Hadlea Boone Meadows and James Meadows.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church, 2850 Union Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
