It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Black Sutton (Gastonia, North Carolina), who passed away on January 7, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Woodrow Black and Catherine Viola Pruitt Black; her husband James Phillip Sutton; and her siblings, Howard Black, Evelyn McMurry and Dean Carrigan.
She is survived by: her children, Jason (Jewel Sutton) and Jamie (Mark Lineberger); her grandchildren, Jonah Sutton and Riley Lineberger; her sister Freida Davis; and her close friend Judy Cooper. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
