He is survived by: his son Henry Thomas Knowles; his daughter-in-law Susan of Charlotte; his daughters, Kimberly Marie Knowles of Gastonia and Eve Blair Schaap; his son-in-law Tim of Gastonia; his grandchildren, John English Knowles and Katie Knowles Smitherman; his great grandchildren, Pearson and Henry Smitherman; and his brother-in-law Bill Pearson (Geri).
