He is survived by: his children, Melissa Fancher (Randall), Melanie Dyer (Richard), Joseph H. Harris, III (Pamela) and Mark Harris; and his siblings, Madge Thorpe and Walter T. Harris (Melinda). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation (2916 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Southminster Church (1401 Hoffman Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). A burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gaston Memorial Park (2205 Williamsburg Dr, Gastonia, NC 28054).
