He was predeceased by: his father James Wilson Griffin, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother JoAnne Graybeal Griffin; his wife Mishael Flowe Griffin; his children, Vickie Smith (Jamie), Thomas Griffin (Laura) and Taylor Griffin (Connie); his grandchildren, Hana, Hope, Miles, Benjamin, McKinsley, Ezra, Jude and Jacob; and his sister Kim Wright. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Christian School, 1625 Lowell Bethesda Rd, Gastonia, NC 28056.
