He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Creech Welham and John Pendleton Cole, II; and his wife Delorise Caison Cole. He is survived by: his children, Lynda Cole Sanderson (John) of Albemarle and John Pendleton Cole, IV of Gastonia; and his sister-in-law Shelby Mozingo of Goldsboro, NC..
