He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leo Farris, Sr. and Lillian Moses Farris. He is survived by: his wife Julia Eskridge Farris; his sons, John Michael Farris of Delray Beach and James Franklin Farris of Gastonia; his granddaughter Aspen Amberly Ski Farris; and his sister Jean Marie Farris of Lincolnton.

In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be sent to the Knights of Columbus - St. Michaels Church, 708 St. Michaels Lane, Gastonia, North Carolina 28052.
