He was predeceased by: his parents, James Armstrong and Roxie Gilreath Armstrong Jerry. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Strickland Armstrong; his children, James Edward Armstrong (Amanda) and Judith Smith (Robby); his brothers, Roy and Troy Armstrong; and his grandchildren, Jessica (Jason Cloninger), Jack, Hunter, Houston and Hanna.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 5323 Union Road.
