She was predeceased by: her parents, Irby Wilson Howard and Melita Howard Burgess; her stepfather Milton Lee Burgess, Sr.; and her siblings, Helene Howard Vaughan and Milton Lee Burgess, Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Ashley Brooke Barr of Gastonia; and her siblings, Mildred Howard Faile of Rock Hill, Shirley Burgess Ramsey of Rock Hill and James Donald Burgess of Livingston.
