It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Louis Barnes (Gastonia, North Carolina), who passed away on August 27, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Barnes and Altie Farmer Barnes; his wife Virginia Gravette Barnes; his sisters, Mildred and Velvie; and his half-brother Horace Pastor.

He is survived by: his children, James Ronald Barnes and Robin Barnes Michael; his son-in-law Scott Michael of Autryville; and his grandson Jordan Barnes (Allie Barnes) of Atlanta, GA..
