It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Iris Lind Avery of Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on March 12, 2024, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Hillary and Jennie Lind Coe. She is survived by: her husband Paul Hadden Avery, Jr.; her sister Cherise Coe Vaughn; her children, Ashley Lind LaCourse (Jason), Christopher Aaron Avery (Lauren) and Abigail Lind Carter (Madison); and her grandchildren, Addison, Elora, Bryson, Hermione and Jacob.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Momma Avery's passion for education and teaching, donations can be made to the FUMC Scholarship Fund, PO Box 218, Gastonia, NC, 28053, or drop off your favorite unused children's book to your local elementary school (she would always sign and date the inside cover.).
