It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Boone Heilig (Gastonia, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnny Boone and Edna Boone; her husband Lewis Heilig; and her daughter-in-law Catherine Leslie Smith. She is survived by: her son Jeff Smith; her grandchildren, Caroline Leslie Johnston (Adam) and William Todd Smith; and her great grandchild Will Johnston.
