He was predeceased by: his parents, John Clyde and Thelma Henley Bell; his wife Gayle W. Bell; his son Chris Bell; and his siblings, William Franklin Bell and Martha Odessa Bell.
He is survived by: his children, Chuck Bell of Wilmington, NC, Craig Bell of Gastonia, NC, Meg Bell Leatherwood of Cramerton and Patrick Bell (Karen) of Raleigh, NC; his daughter-in-law Beth Bell of Belmont, NC; his grandchildren, Linsey Bryan (Michael), Leah Garren, Stuart Gunn, Gates Gunn (Christina), Ragan Huffstetler, Jake Bell, Parker Leatherwood and Abbey Bell; and his sister Betty Bell Smith. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
