With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Geraldine Hovis of Gastonia, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on June 8, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee and Leona Kiser Eaker; her husband William "Wade" Hovis; and her siblings, Bobbie Lewis Eaker and Lucille Eaker Hovis.
She is survived by: her children, Jim Hovis (Becky) of Charlotte, Frank Hovis (Leigh Anne) of Gastonia and Marie Hovis Swift (Steve) of Bessemer City; her sister Rebekah Lynch; her grandchildren, Sarah Egnor (Hunter), Thomas Hovis (Lisa), Emily Bradford (Jesse), Jonathan Hovis (Melissa), Erin Dunaway (Wes), Martin Hovis (Jenni), Andrew Swift (Halie) and Lindsay Mincey (Jordan); and her great grandchildren, Libby Jane, Caroline, Harrison, Grayson, Davis, Emma, Hayes, Austen, Elizabeth, Ella Scot, Thornton, Wells, Jameson, Willa and Giles.
