It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Wayne Frye of Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Frye and Ruby Whitted Frye; his siblings, Hazel Rayfield, Mary Lou Bruce, Jewel Christine Frye, Lee and Danny Frye; and his brother-in-law Rodger Oliver.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Oliver Frye; his daughter Sonya Frye Smith (Steve) of Dallas, NC; his grandsons, Logan Faulkenberry and Peyton Smith; his sisters, Norma Kirkpatrick and Shirley McMillan Gary; his mother-in-law Louise Oliver; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Ronald Oliver, Gloria Roper, Donna Wilson, Ricky Oliver and Kimberly Hargrave.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at the Harris Funeral Home (108 S Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel (106 S Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086).
