He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Merrill and Thelma Merrill; his wife Nora Adcock Merrill; and his brother Jimmy Merrill. He is survived by: his children, Robert Scott Merrill and Kathy Merrill Lynch (Steve); his grandchildren, Jennifer Lynch, Stephen E. Lynch, Sara Yarborough and Mary Yarborough; and his great grandchildren, Nora Hulsey and Gracie Hulsey.
