With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edith Mae Parks McGinnis (Gastonia, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on May 3, 2020 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Lee and Annie Butler Parks; and her siblings, Jesse L. Parks of Gastonia and Elizabeth P. Loudermilk of Gastonia. She is survived by: her daughter Carol Ann McGinnis Swanson of Gastonia, NC; her grandchildren, Angela Riddle (Scott) of Salisbury, NC, Cindy Lanford (Dale) of Bessemer City, NC, Dawn Trace (Greg) of Belmont, William C. McGinnis III (Elizabeth) of Vale, NC, Michael L. McGinnis (Melissa) of Stanley, NC and Jimmy L. Swanson of Gastonia; her close friend Isaac Andrew Hutchins; her sons, Richard L. McGinnis and William C. McGinnis Jr.; and her daughter-in-law Joyce McGinnis. She is also survived by 12 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
