She is survived by: her husband Thomas Mathis; her daughter Renee; her son-in-law Todd Anthony; and her sisters, Kathy Hyatt, Sherry Hazelton and Cindy Miller. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal League of Gaston County, Spay/Neuter Clinic, 425 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
