It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Rice Barr (Gastonia, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on February 20, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther "Luke" and Arnee Watts Rice; her husband Jacob "Leroy" Barr, Jr.; and her brothers, Daniel Rice and Marshall "PeeWee" Rice.

She is survived by: her children, Curtis Barr (Cynthia), Todd Barr, Sr. (Misty), Julie Lloyd (Mike) and Teresa Moore; her siblings, Darrell Rice (Gilda), Patsy Hulcey and Tennie Sahms; her grandchildren, Michael Lloyd, Matthew Barr, Todd Barr, Jr., Jessica Barr, Jacob Barr, Lauren Barr, Erin Shelby and Joseph Moore; and her great grandchildren, Lillie Barr, Kayden Barr, Isabella Detter, Sarah Lloyd, Lennox Sessoms, Ryan Barr, Elizabeth Shelby and Levi Shelby.
