He was predeceased by: his parents, Holland Hall Helton and Mary John Moss Helton; and his wife Frances Bryant Helton. He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Edwards (James); his siblings, Ginger McGaha (Allen), Jerry Helton (Linda), Calvin "Chub" Helton (Jean), Rick Helton (Donna) and Lynn Helton (Kim); his grandchildren, Delayna Edwards, Lilyanna Edwards and James Edwards, Jr.; and his uncle Robert "Monk" Moss. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
