She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Delk of Washington and Willie Jean Hamilton; and her adoptive parents, Herman Hulton and Cora Ratchford Rhyne. She is survived by: her husband John P. Starnes (Pat); her son Cory Hulton Starnes (Kim) of Gastonia; her stepchildren, Cindy Starnes Thomas (Steve) of Gastonia, Mark P. Starnes (Wanda) of Granite Falls, Mack K. Starnes (Susan) of Gastonia and Candice Starnes Rednour of Cherryville; her grandchildren, John Patrick Starnes of Virginia and Addison Leigh Starnes of Belmont; and her sisters, Wanda R. Lamb of Cherryville, Mary Anne Edmiston (Jim) of Troutman and Carol Melanson of Bryson City. She is also survived by seven step-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren and a menagerie of beloved fur babies.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, Tri-County Animal Rescue or to the Department of Health and Human Services, Foster Care Division.
