It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dewey Steven McKinney (Gastonia, North Carolina), who passed away on June 6, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Richmond and Pansy Buchanan McKinney; and his siblings, Jim, Harry McKinney and Gladys M. Ford.

He is survived by: his wife Shelia C. McKinney; his children, Matt McKinney (Shawn) of Huntersville, Angie Simmons (Todd) of Gastonia and Amy Simmons (Zeke) of Clover, SC; his grandchildren, Austin Simmons, Alex, Aiden Helton, Whitley McGeary, Megan, Jesse Case and Chloe Prescott; and his great grandchildren, Ansley McGeary, Ruby and J. P. Torrez. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flint Groves Baptist Church, 2017 E. Ozark Ave., Gastonia, NC 28054.
