She was predeceased by: her parents, Alie Clinton Smith and Yates Donwell Smith; her former husband Daniel "Dan" Cornelius Gunter, Jr.; her grandson William "Andy" Anderson Banks Jr.; and her grandparent Dede.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Donwell Gunter (Barbara) of Winston Salem, Robin Gunter Banks (William) of Gastonia and Peaches Gunter Blank of Nashville, TN; her grandchildren, Kimberly Layton (Jason) of Raleigh, Daniel Gunter III (Lindsay Beth) of Raleigh, Dede Smith of Glen Allen, VA, Mark Banks (Chelsea) of Raleigh, Raleigh Anne Gray (John) of Charlotte and Tierra Barnett (Anthony) of Gastonia; her great grandchildren, Adeline Pearl Layton, Tucker Yates Layton, Tatum Smith Layton, Daniel Cornelius Gunter IV, William Michael Gunter, Sophia True Smith, Lincoln Anderson Smith, Ace Dacari Gilmore, William Anderson Banks III, Madelyn Margaret Banks and Edward Wylie Gray; her sister June Miller; her sister-in-law Robbie Gunter; and her husband Anthony. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
