It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cleo Davidson Mauney (Gastonia, North Carolina), who passed away on January 25, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Davidson and Maggie Smith Davidson; her husband William "Bill" Mauney; and her siblings, Evelyn Barnette, Betty Ann Butt and Frank Davidson.
She is survived by: her daughter Perian Simpson; her grandchildren, David Patrick Simpson, Jr. (Jennifer) and Aaresta Evans; her great grandchildren, Cadence Simpson, Judah Simpson, Jonathan Lyles and Sawyer Evans; and her sister Carol Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McAdenville Baptist Church, 192 Main Street, McAdenville, NC 28101.
