It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carlene Roberts (Gastonia, North Carolina), born in Unaka, North Carolina, who passed away on October 26, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewitt Roberts Sr. and Alma Plemons Roberts; her son David Abernathy; and her siblings, Arnvel Roberts, Dewitt Roberts Jr., Joel Roberts, Blois Mobley and Jeanette Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy Barrett (Patrick), Brenda Rhodes, Pamela Wall (Thomas) of Lake Wylie, Crystal Joy Abernathy of Lowell and Ronnie Abernathy (Amy); and her sister Myrtle LaVoie of Lowell. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
