He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie Holt (Dixon) and Reverend Nathan W. Holt; his wife Dorothy Holt (Self); his daughter Carla Price (Holt); and his brother Richard A. Holt.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lucille Rankin (Rodger), Dereama Gaddy (Sidney) and Martha Stephens (David); his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Nolan Canter, Corbin and Emmett Melton; and his sister Myrna Crews (Sam).
