It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bobby Reid Simmons (Gastonia, North Carolina), who passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Simmons and Edna Simmons; his siblings, William Simmons, Marshall Simmons, Thomas Simmons and Jean Hardin; his great grandchild Max; and his brother-in-law Robert Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Brown Simmons; his son Bobby Simmons Jr. (Lori); his siblings, Jerry Simmons (Ann), Marie Adams (Bob) and Rhonda Simmons; his grandchildren, Kristen (Brandon), Dillon (Heather), Luke, Cassie, Zachary and Katie Grace; and his great grandchildren, Colton, Noelle, Mason, Paisley, Jaclyn and Remi.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Union Presbyterian Church (5615 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC 28056). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Presbyterian sign fund, 5615 Union Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28056.
