With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Billie Ruth Barnes of Gastonia, North Carolina, born in York, South Carolina, who passed away on May 31, 2022 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lewis Nivens and Margaret Lewis Nivens; and her siblings, Max William Nivens, Roger Dale Nivens and Kay Francis Nivens.
She is survived by: her husband Harold Eugene, Jr. (Butch); her sons, Wesley Kenric (Kasey Yount) of Gastonia, N. C., Stephen Chadwick (Christine Mechling) of Gastonia, N. C. and Gregory Scott (Amber Pittman) of Holly Springs, N. C.; her brother Larry Joe Nivens of Clover, S. C.; and her grandchildren, Kenric Barnes, Taylor Barnes, Brooke Barnes, William Barnes, Kaitlin Barnes, Bennett Barnes, Madison Barnes, Caroline Barnes and Lindsey Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossnore Communities for Children and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
