He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph N. Ehret and Geraldine Searles Ehret; his wife Doris Rankin Ehret; his son-in-law Carl Scott; and his siblings, Grant Ehret, Joseph Ehret and Elaine Ehret Freeman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Ehret Scott and Robin Ehret Starks (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
