She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Sherman and Elizabeth Lingerfelt Branch; her former husband Robert "Bobby" Hoyle; and her grandchildren, Ethan Hoyle Wheeler and Sophia Reese Wheeler.

She is survived by: her husband Alfred "Al" Cheney V; her daughters, Kimberly Whitaker Long (Larry) and Alisa Hoyle Wheeler (Brian); her stepson Alfred "Freddie" Cheney VI (Britan); her siblings, Pat Hamrick (J. T.), Jerrie Welch (David), Ruth Helms (Jimmy), Cathy Honeycutt (Phil), Carol Nantz (Faron), Doddie Gregory (Mike) and Rev. Sherman "Chuck" Branch (Debbie); her grandchildren, Kristin, Madison, Emma, Will, Eli, Jax and Finn; and her great grandchildren, Lukas, Ellison Kate and Lillian. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
