He was predeceased by: his parents, Winston Clyde Phillips and Hilda Earney Phillips. He is survived by: his sisters, Kathy Phillips Hamrick of Boomer, NC and Linda Phillips of Gastonia, NC; and his son A. C. Townsend. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
