It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Josephine Adams of Gaston, North Carolina, born in Cherokee, North Carolina, who passed away on July 28, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hardy Lawrence and Mary Etta Griggs Pendergrass; her husband Kendall Adams, Sr.; and her brother Dillard Pendergrass. She is survived by: her children, Kendall Adams, Jr. (Melinda) of Gastonia, NC and Stacey Gibby (Lennox) of Gastonia, NC; and her grandchildren, Wesley Gibby (Lauren), Jennifer Grant (Mike), Amanda Britt, Jessica Adams, Dana Adams, Crystal Drawdy and Kim Laye. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society at Cancer Research Institute, National Headquarters, 29 Broadway, 4th Floor New York, NY 10006-3111.
