He is survived by: his father Gene Douglas Long, Sr.; his daughter Jennifer Long White; and his son-in-law Charles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
