It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Frances Bennett Gittens of Gaston, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on January 3, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Bennett of Washington and Mary Bennett; her husband Artist Lewis Gittens; her daughter Artie Gittens Smith; her grandson William Artist Smith; and her siblings, Helen Vanatta, Murphy Bennett and Harold Bennett.
She is survived by: her daughters, Janice Gittens Ammons (Jimmy) of Lynn Haven, FL, Debbie Gittens of Little River, SC and Pamela Marie Dalton (Chuck) of King, NC; and her grandchildren, Celeste, Melissa, Jenifer, Jonathon, Brandon and Dustin. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
