He was predeceased by: his parents, George William Lane and Mavin Wray Lane; and his wife Sara Ann Benton Lane. He is survived by: his siblings, Beulah Jackson, Patricia Dyess, Katherine Veil, Joseph Lane, Jacob Lane, Durwood Gene Lane and Robert Lee Lane; his children, Shelby Jean Lane Payne, William Steel Lane Jr., George William Lane (Julie) and Carl Gene Lane Sr. (Kim); his grandchildren, Crystalina Lechel Lane Ritter, Carl Gene Lane Jr., Sabrina Nicole Carlin, Travis Calvin Lane, Britney Marilyn Lane and George Nathaniel Lane; his great grandchildren, Breandon Gage Lee Jones, Candace Breyanna Noell Jones, William Anthony Omega Lane, Jasmine Marie Belle Ritter, Seth William Beyer, Adam Wyatt Lane, Ayden Kelly Lane, Cameron Michael Carlin, Grayson Rhett Carlin Martin, Emma Rose Lane, Waylon Lee Lane, Adelyn Grace Lane and Salem Steele Lane; and his brothers, Kenneth Lane and David John Lane. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.
Due to COVID-19, graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 19 th at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton, NC.
