He is survived by: his wife Debbie Stancil; his daughter Amanda Banks (Jason); his grandsons, Tucker and Jaxson; his sisters, Brenda Atwood Hill (Charles), Judy Atwood Pounds (Ronald), Sheila Atwood Elliott (Steve) and Toni Atwood Shaw (Tony); his nephews, Craig Pounds (Jennifer), Stephen Jernigan (Paige), Eric Pounds Andrew Shaw (Ashley), Mitchell Shaw and Patrick Shaw; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Stancil and Sammy Stancil.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
