It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Jay Speyer of Garner, North Carolina, born in Marion, Ohio, who passed away on October 13, 2023, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul James "PJ" and Ellen Speyer (Hoffman); his brother Gene L. Speyer; his nephew Chris Thogmartin; and his niece Meg Speyer.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his daughter Madison; his siblings, Julia Thogmartin (Don) of Seabrook Island, SC, Joseph Speyer (Martha) of Richwood, Sally Corbett (Charles D.) of Huron and James Speyer (Heather) of Findlay; his niece Liz Ames (Speyer); his nephews, Logan and Ty Speyer; and also, Allison Evert (Bill) and Samantha Gundrum (Ethan).
