It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth Daughtry Dupree of Garner, North Carolina, born in Clayton, North Carolina, who passed away on April 23, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tiney Daughtry and Irene Daughtry; her husband Alex Dupree, Jr.; and her siblings, Billy, Leon Daughtry and Jean Woodall.
She is survived by: her daughter Tammy Dupree Penny (Jeff) of Apex; her stepdaughter Melanie Dupree Policke (Tim) of Forest, Virginia; her grandchildren, Stephen Michael Policke (Mikayla), Rachel Ann Policke, Nicholas Payton Penny and Mackenzie Dupree Penny; and her sister Doris Daughtry Watson of Knightdale.
In appreciation, as an alternative to flowers, donations and memorials may be made on behalf of Ruth and her family to Duke Hospice and/or to the NC Chapter of the ALS Association to support the discovery of effective treatments and cure for ALS.
