Downing Jr.; his sister-in-law Cynthia Downing of Garner; his sisters, Anita Nelson (Alder Nelson) and Artrie "Lynette" Hudson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and his nephew Desmond Downing Sr. of Maryland.
