He was predeceased by: his wife Caroline Holding Sauls; his father James Sauls Sr. of Garner, NC.; and his brother Joseph David Sauls. He is survived by: his mother Ida Sauls; and his siblings, Julie Lawler, James Sauls Jr. (Jimmy), Charles Sauls (Timmy) and Mary Beth Belt.
